2013 started off very busy. The new garage had to be built out with work benches, 220 power for the compressor and the MIG welder along with shelving and cabinets.

The lift arrived in January and a couple of friends and I were able to get it up and installed. Having this piece of equipment has made all the difference for getting work done.

The lift was installed and operational by the beginning of March 2013

2013: Basically, once I got the lift in place I started working on the MGA. You can see the process that I went through on the link from my home page.

I tried to run the Jag once or twice a month but letting a car sit is the worse thing you can do to it. Also the initial rebuild kits that I used for the carbs sort of melted with ethanol fuel so I had to rebuild the carbs again. The new fuel tank still had varnish in it from years ago and this varnish got into the carbs and further gummed things up.

When it would not start I would let it sit for a month or two until I could get to it. Often times I would get it started and some other problem would pop up. I only did a couple of small things in 2013.

2014: Started the Jag 14 times in 2014. The only work was to rebuild the clutch slave cylinder because it started leaking.

2015: Started the Jag three times at the beginning of the year then it sat for 8 months. I tried to start the car in September but it kept flooding so I pulled the carbs off and rebuilt them and the Jag still would not start. I found a weak spark so I installed an electronic ignition and a Flame Thrower coil. The car starts easily but does not idle well.

2016: Drove over to my daughter's house and back, about 3 miles but that is the farthest this car has been for 37 years.

Jag is starting to dump gas when I start it - found a cracked float in #1 carb so I replaced all of them with solid floats.

Header tank is starting to leak.

2017: Tried to start the Jag in January but the carbs are totally clogged again. I'll get to it when I have more time.

I didn't start the Jag from the beginning of 2017 to the middle of 2018 when I finished the MGA. I drove the MGA a lot for a couple of months and then it came time to start back up on the Jag.

As you can see the Jag looks the same but the MGA is up and running.
