The inside surfaces were painted first. I wanted the whole car to be the same color and not obviously a repaint. Once again I use Sherwin Williams color that I picked off the chart.

I like the way the green color works with the tan interior. This worked out well.

At this point I'm not sure why I did not paint the outside surfaces, but now I wish I had.

Instead I put the body back on the frame and fit all the pieces once again and built up a drivable car. Part of my reasoning was that I did not want to mar the finish paint if I had to remove the body again. This was just a mistake that I will not make again.
I drove the car for a couple of weeks looking like this and I was able to get it tuned up and drivable. Next I removed all the chrome and got the car ready for its final coat of paint.
The finish paint went on well but it is not perfect. I thought I had everything perfect in the body work but there is nothing like a glossy paint job to point out the imperfections. My garage paint booth worked out well. I can install it in 10 minutes so I will use it again in the future.

In retrospect I should have painted the body while it was off the car and if I had done that I would have put more paint in hard to reach areas. Now I will have to go back and redo some of it. The good news is that I did not use a clear coat so I can touch up and repaint where needed. The bad news is that it is more work.

At this point I'm ready to start putting the car together for the last time.
